Cleaning Tips

<How To.......

Remove ink stains from the carpet or Sofa!

If your little ones have managed to mark your carpet or sofa with biro, just squirt some hairspray onto the area, leave for a few minutes and then dab with a piece of kitchen towel. The important thing is to dab, not rub. Keep repeating the process until all the ink has gone.

Cure a Smelly Sink

If you have a smelly sink, put about 150 grams of Bicarbonate of Soda down the plughole, pour on about 25ml of Distilled vinegar and watch it bubble! Leave for about 10 minutes or longer if you have time and then flush with boiling water, the smell will go and should last for about a week. I do my sinks every Sunday along with the roast!

Remove Tea stains

If you have tea stains on your worktops or in your sink, squirt some common soda liquid over the stained area, add some distilled vinegar, wait for about 2 minutes then just wipe off with a gentle scourer. Rinse with clean water, wipe dry. The tea stains will be gone and the sink will be shiny!

Keep Glass Shower Doors and Shower Heads Clear of Limescale

To keep your glass clean after each shower, wipe the glass with a squeegee. It's the water deposits that cause the limescale, no water deposits, no limescale - Simple! To make sure your Shower Head stays clean, soak it once a week in a plastic container or food bag with some natural Decalcifier or Distilled Vinegar (see our products page) over night and rinse clean in the morning!

Rid Your Kitchen of Cooking smells

The very best thing to do is have good ventilation when you start cooking so most of the odour goes out of the window, a good extractor will have the same effect. If you are unable to do this, after cooking, gently boil some cinnamon sticks with fresh lemons and the warm inviting smell will waft around the home making it smell warm and inviting. Lovely! You could also place small pots of white vinegar discreetly around the home as this is a natural deodoriser.

Make a Creamy Scourer for Cleaning Grout and Tiles

Mix a teaspoon of Bicarbonate of Soda with a few drops of Distilled Vinegar to a soft creamy mixture, rub into the grout and leave for 1-2 hours, scrub out with a brush and your grout will be much cleaner. Use the creamy mixture to clean tiles too. Rinse and dry off for a wonderful shine.

Make Eco Friendly air freshener

Put about 20 drops of lavender oil into a small spray bottle with a teaspoon of Bicarbonate of Soda (which acts as a natural deodoriser), top up with distilled water, shake and hey presto you have a natural disinfectant, antibacterial room spray that smells wonderful!

'Tenants had just moved out of my house and left it in a real mess. They had obviously never cleaned it themselves, there were cobwebs and thick dust everywhere. Annette and her team cleaned it from top to bottom. They blitzed the whole house, cleaning around the lights, under the cooker and behind the fridge. Even the walls look nice and clean considering how dirty they were before.

The house looks great, really nice and clean. I found out afterwards that Kingswood only use eco-friendly products. That's a bonus.

Annette is friendly and helpful and there is no sales pressure. She also has a lot of contacts for things she can't do herself. She was able to recommend someone to do the decorating and someone to clean the external windows.'
